PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte turned 76 on Sunday, March 28. Malacañang said he wishes nothing more than to end the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rodrigo Roa Duterte is the oldest Filipino politician to be elected as President in the country’s history. The term of the Davaoeño politician will end in June next year.

Duterte turned 76 on Sunday, March 28. Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the president wishes for an end to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on his birthday.

Harry Roque said he’s certain that the birthday wish of Duterte is for the country. He said that the president wishes that all of us could return to our normal lives.

“Well, I’m sure the President wishes an end to this pandemic at nais po niyang lahat tayo ay makabalik po sa buhay nating mga normal. Ibig sabihin, babalik tayo doon sa napakataas na ating growth rate taun-taon because ang kaniyang pangako ay mas komportableng buhay sa lahat…”

Harry Roque said President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is also determined to continue efforts to fulfill his promises during his campaign. “Despite COVID, I’m sure ang kaniyang birthday wish ay matupad pa rin iyong mas komportableng buhay, iyong makabangon ang lahat mula dito sa pandemyang ito,” he added.

Last year, the president spent his birthday while on self-quarantine in Malacañang Palace. He usually celebrates his birthdays in Davao City.

Last year, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s former aide, now Senator Christopher “Bong” Go said he can only have fun when the pandemic ends.

“The President will only celebrate when we have fully conquered the Covid-19 situation. For now, he is focused on what needs to be done — at nandito ako para suportahan palagi si Pangulong Duterte,” Go said.
