Lawyer Harry Roque Back to Malacañang as Presidential Spokesperson
Months after resigning, lawyer Harry Roque returns to Malacañang Palace as President Rodrigo Duterte’s spokesperson, Senator Bong Go said Monday.
According to the report, Senator Go confirmed this in a message to reporters. “Maaaring kailangan niya lang talaga sa panahong ito na merong tagapagsalita, separate po ng opisina, I’m guessing,” the longtime aide of the President Christopher “Bong” Go said on Monday,
The Current Presidential Spokesperson and Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo, a long-time ally, said he will continue to work for Duterte.
“Harry Roque will be back to his previous post. I’m still the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel. I will be performing the same role as the President’s chief lawyer and issuing statements as such,” Panelo told GMA News.
On the report of GMA News, Roque said that he will be officially reporting to work at 4 p.m. Monday. He also said that he doesn’t know the reason why the President Duterte reassigned him to his former position.
“Don’t know the reason as only President Rodrigo Roa Duterte knows,” said Roque.
Roque was assigned as spokesperson in October 2017 and last held the position in October 2018, when he resigned to run for a seat in the House of Representatives under Luntiang Pilipinas party-list, and Panelo took over.
