PH Senator Bong Go has this reminder to his critics.
BONG GO – Philippine Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go has this message and reminder to people who are critical to him.
On Thursday, an official from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has confirmed that lawyer of Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go has went to the agency’s Cybercrime Division and formally filed a complaint. This is against the persons who criticized him online.
The senator himself said that he asked the NBI to conduct investigations on particular social media posts which can possibly violate the cybercrime law, being libelous, and among others. Several subpoenas were sent out and one of which was sent to a mere college student.
Now, after doing such, he left a reminder to his critics that they may be allowed to express their opinion but they have to make sure that what they are spreading is true and it does not violate any law. He also added that if they received the subpoena, all they have to do is to address it because there are processes which will protect them.
In a report from Manila Bulletin, he urged the people to exercise their rights to freedom of expression but to also be responsible of what they say. Addressing his the people who are critical of him, “Paalala lang na tulad ninyo, may pamilya at anak rin akong nasasaktan sa mga paninira na hindi naman totoo na ibinabato ninyo sa mga taong nagseserbisyo lang para sa kabutihan ng kapwa nating Pilipino.”
