DepEd Early Registration for S.Y. 2021-2022 To Begin Soon

DEPED – The Department of Education announced the starting date of the early registration for the school year 2021-2022.

The education system is one of those greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The current school year has not started on time due to the threats of the coronavirus disease.

Instead of starting the school year in June, it was initially moved to August and then moved again to October 2020. Also, face-to-face classes are prohibited just as gatherings are not allowed in the pursuit to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The Department of Education adapted blended learning – the delivery of the lessons to the students is through modules and online classes. Teachers utilized online platforms to interact with the students.

There are still no updates as to the setup of the schools for the next school year. The COVID-19 pandemic is still existing and new variants of the coronavirus disease were recently detected.

Meanwhile, DepEd will do early registration for students in Kindergarten and grades 1,7 and 11. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, students may register starting today, Friday, until April 30, 2021.

According to DepEd, the said move for early registration can help the department check on the number of students that will be part of the next school year. Based on the report, students who are in grades 2 to 6, 8 to 10, and 12 do not need to register as they are already pre-registered.

Education Undersecretary Jesus Mateo expressed that the mode of registration might vary in the different regions due to the quarantine protocols and limitations. Parents can go to schools in case the school allows in-person registration. In some cases, online registration may be the mode.
