Zamboanga Station Chief, 4 Other Policemen Arrested for Money Extortion
A station chief in Zamboanga City and four of his policemen were arrested in an entrapment operation over money extortion.
During the entrapment operation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) in Barangay Ayala Zamboanga City, a station officer and his men were arrested.
The police chief was identified as Police Major Orlyn Leyte, Officer in Charge of Station 9, Ayala, Zamboanga City. Leyte is now facing robbery and extortion charges.

Based on the report of Manila Bulletin, the police chief and his men reportedly setting up businessmen in their area and telling them that they are involved in drug cases. Then the group will ask for money from the victims and assure them to clear their names from the drugs watchlist.
The IMEG operatives arrested Leyte while accepting P2,000 placed on top of 88 marked money. Men of Leyte identified PSSg. Hegenio Salvador, PSSg. Asser Abdulkadim, PCpl Ismael Sasapan, and PCpl Juman Arabani who are all members of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the station were also arrested.
They are under the restricted custody of the City Director, Zamboanga City Police. The suspects were temporarily detained at the Zamboanga City PS for proper disposition.
