Tito Sotto mentioned the future political plan of Manny Pacquiao

Senator Manny Pacquiao is interested to run for President in the 2022 elections as what Senate President Tito Sotto said in a recent interview.

The name of the boxer-turned-politician has been creating a loud buzz nowadays when it comes to the next election. He is among the top 10 politicians who were listed under the Presidential Preference survey. Previously, speculations surfaced that he and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno will be running mates.

Two prominent political figures also released statements regarding the future plans of Pacquiao when it comes to his political career. Former Manila Mayor and now Congressman Lito Atienza, who is also known as one of the Senator’s friends, revealed that it has been the latter’s dream of becoming a President.

Pacquiao’s fellow lawmaker, Ping Lacson, also revealed just recently, that the boxing champ has talked to him several times regarding his plan and asked help.

Amid the loud buzz about his plan to become the next president of the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao said in a statement that talking about the 2022 elections and matters about politics is untimely. He stressed that the focus must on dealing with the problems brought by the COVID-19.

TV5 reporter Marie Ann Los Banos has a recent conversation with Senate President Tito Sotto. During the interview, the actor-turned-politician revealed that Pacquiao has approached him twice. The politician from Mindanao expressed to the veteran politician that he is interested in running for President.

However, Sotto said that the younger Senator did not ask help from him. “Parang bumubusina lang,’ he said.

In a previous report, it was said rumors surfaced that Manny Pacquiao was told to discontinuer pursuing the presidency.
