McCoy de Leon Stars As Isko Moreno in ‘Yorme: The Musical’

ISKO MORENO – Actor-dancer McCoy de Leon portrays the young Francisco Isko Moreno Domagoso in an upcoming musical biopic ‘Yorme: The Musical.’

Since he took office last 2019, Manila Mayor Francisco Isko Moreno Domagoso has been the talk of the town. After just a few days of working as a mayor, he moved to restore the city’s cultural heritage and cleared up the busy streets.

The actor-turned-politician kept his people updated with their projects or activities through his social media accounts or press con every now and then. He admitted that he’s one of the politicians who also aim to get the “highest position” in the government.

During an interview in a forum, Mayor Isko Moreno had an intriguing statement after being pressed for presidential candidacy. He said he will be decisive and tell them if he wants to run for the presidency or not. “Hindi ko gagawin yun kunwari ayaw pero gusto, nabili na yun, e,” he said.

Yorme also said being a mayor is already a big blessing to him. He has gone a long way from being a scavenger in a garbage dump in Manila.

Based on a report from ABS-CBN, Kapamilya actor McCoy de Leon will portray the young Isko Moreno in an upcoming musical biopic titled “Yorme: The Musical.” The actor-dance shot his first sequences near Pritil, Tondo recently.

The musical biopic is directed by Joven Tan. The young actor will cover the struggle of Isko as a scavenger in Tondo until he joined German Moreno’s “That’s Entertainment” and later as an actor. It will end with his rise as a political star in Manila.

According to the report, Joven Tan said McCoy de Leon is perfect for the role because he and the mayor have some similarities. He also said “Yorme: The Musical” is not a campaign movie for the 2022 elections.

The director said the bio flick is also a tribute to the late host German Moreno. The musical biopic is slated for theatrical release in June 2022.
