Actress Angel Aquino had this reaction to the kind comments she received after her “I like girls” revelation.
Angel had this unexpected coming out through her guesting on Bilyonaryo News Channel’s The Daily Dish, back in October last year.
During the interview, she talked about her life and career. Then, during the rapid-fire questions, Angel was asked to mention something that not many people knew about her.
She revealed, “I love girls.” The host said that people might no idea about this, but the actress said that many people might just be in denial. After that, she clarified that what she meant was that she falls in love with girls as well.
Her unexpected coming out received positive feedback, and in a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Angel Aquino shared her reaction to this.
She was thankful that many people accepted her, and this was something that she did not expect. “Ako rin nabigla ako. Kasi hindi ko naman siya pinlano. It wasn’t something, like, ‘I’m coming out today,‘” the actress shared.
She also stressed that she never hid this part of herself. The actress just thought people already knew about this.
Angel added that she was not hiding her relationships. “I feel it’s something that people have known for a very long time, and we just don’t openly talk about it. They’ve seen me with people I’ve been with, and hindi ko naman siya tinago ever,” the actress stressed.
Angel Aquino also showed appreciation for the members of the media who allowed her to speak at the right time when she was comfortable talking about this part of her life.
“I’m really grateful for that. I really appreciate the kindness that was offered,” the actress said.
