Isko Moreno Says Public Drivers, Market Vendors First On Sinovac Vaccine Priority
ISKO MORENO ON VACCINE PRIORITY – According to Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, public drivers and market drivers will be first to receive Sinovac.
Recently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that CoronaVac, Sinovac’s vaccine, wasn’t recommended for health workers. They explained that this was due to the vaccine’s varying levels of efficacy.
Meanwhile, Isko explained that vaccinating public drivers and vendors first would increase consumer confidence. Based on an article from Manila Bulletin, he said:
We really have to address the economy. Kailangan i-balance ‘yung kabuhayan at ‘yung buhay ng tao
However, the Mayor did announce that the vaccines would be given free of charge. Moreover, it wouldn’t be mandatory.
Amid the announcement of COVID-19 vaccines, the Philippines had set-up programs for its procurement and distribution. But, the majority of the Filipinos still have fears when it comes to inoculation.
As such, big names such as politicians, celebrities, and religious leaders, offered to get vaccinated in public to allay fears of the vaccine.
