Thai Shelter Attaches Wheels to Disabled Stray Dogs to Move Freely

Disabled Stray Dogs Attached to Wheels So They Could Freely Move

A Thai shelter attached wheels to about 27 disabled stray dogs so they could freely again despite the physical condition.

A dog shelter in Thailand’s province of Chonburi southeast of the capital, Bangkok take care of around 27 dogs. The more than two dozen dogs were disabled and could not freely move according to their will.

The foundation “The Man That Rescues Dogs” is running the shelter and assisting the disabled animals. Most of the dogs were victims of accidents.

“It’s almost like they have no idea that they have a disability and once you put them in the wheelchair for the first time, it’s like there’s no learning curve,” shelter official Christopher Chidichimo said.

The shelter attached the dogs to wheels that can support their disabled legs. The wheels become a big help for the dogs mobility.

Unfortunately, the amount of donations to the shelter dropped by around 40 percent due to the effects of the coronavirus disease. The shelter usually spends $1,300 per day to feed over 600 dogs and 350 more street animals.

“The donations are very important, and the volunteers and visitors are equally important, because they come and spread our message,” Chidichimo said.
