Will new Kapamilya actress Janine Gutierrez play the antagonist role in upcoming “Darna” project?
JANINE GUTIERREZ – Former Kapuso actress Janine Gutierrez has this statement about being pressed to play the Valentina role in “Darna”.
“Darna” role has been given to new rising Jane De Leon after actresses Liza Soberano and Angel Locsin denied to play due to particular reasons. For Locsin, she let go of the role last 2017 because of her medical condition. Meanwhile, for Soberano, she said that the reasone why she backed out is because of finger accident.
As the new Darna has been announced who might play the antagonist role of Valentinea? Janine Gutierrez just transferred to the Kapamilya network despite its shutdown and since then, people saw her as best fit for the role.
Upon transferring, among the projects ahead of her included ‘ASAP Natin To,’ a teleserye, and a movie. Being a fan of old films such as Darna, this caught her attention and interest.
She shared, “Actually, may napanood ako before na yung lola ko (Pilita Corrales) nag-Valentina eh…para nung bata ako.”
The new ABS-CBN artist is referring to the 1994 film Darna Ang Pagbabalik starring Anjanette Abayari. She furthered that she is flattered being considered by the peopled to be a part of this project.
However, she did not reveal if she would be a part of it but she is sure about being in ASAP, an upcoming series, and a film which she couldn’t reveal much about yet.
It was last January 15 that the actress was announced as the newest Kapamilya. She is formerly a talent of GMA, the network that housed her for a decade.
