Here’s what Lea Salonga said about ASAP Natin ‘To on TV5
For the first time in the history of Philippine television, a program from other network was aired on another network. On January 24, this happened when the longest-running musical variety show of ABS-CBN was simultaneously shown on TV5.
Being part of the ASAP family, Lea Salonga shared her reaction, based on the article from PEP.
“That’s kind of unprecedented. I mean, how do I feel about it? I feel overjoyed ASAP gets to air, like, actually goes on air again,” the singer-actress said.
She added that it is a good thing that people who have no access on the internet will be able to watch the show. Lea also expressed gratitude to the Kapatid network for catering the show in order to reach a wider scope.
“I was bowled over, I guess, because of the generosity of TV5 to allow this to happen. Because it’s an extremely competitive industry. We all know this. Everybody competes with everybody,” Lea Salonga expressed.
She also said that she could not believe that something like this would happen. For her, this only shows that there is a “bayanihan” spirit in the entertainment industry.
“So, thanks to TV5 for allowing this to happen. And thanks to ABS-CBN also for hanging in there. Just holding on,” the Broadway star said.
Lea Salonga added that it warms her heart knowing that there are good people who are willing to help others.
“And it gives me hope and really quelled my heart seeing that there are good folks out there still that are willing and wanting to help, so I’m very grateful,” she said.
