Fundraising is using the name of Sara Duterte
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte warned the public against people who are soliciting money using her name.
A report from Inquirer stated that the presidential daughter has expressed their warning just recently because people with bad intentions conducted fundraising for her supposed candidacy in the 2022 elections.
The name of Inday Sara is one of the leading names in the list of politicians who are in the Presidential Preference survey.
However, her father, President Rodrigo Duterte also expressed that he is opposing this. Sara Duterte herself denied that she will run for President next elections.
On the other hand, the supporters of the Davao City Mayor have been expressing their support online.
However, as what Inday Sara expresses, there are those people who have been using her name for their own gain. She said that solicitations have been sent to various groups, including businessmen for her supposed presidential candidacy.
“Huwag po kayong magpaloko sa campaign fundraising na ito (Don’t be fooled by this campaign fundraising),” she warned the public.
Sara Duterte also stressed that this kind of activities has no permission from her. She also urged the public not to give money to these people.
“Wala po itong pahintulot mula sa akin. Huwag po kayong maniwala. Huwag po kayong magbigay,” the Davao City Mayor said.
She also tagged the solicitation using her name is a scam and a form of deception.
Sara Duterte also urged the public to report to the nearest police station if they encounter this kind of fundraising.
