DOLE Official Passes Away Due to COVID-19

DOLE Official Joji Aragon Succumbed to Coronavirus Disease

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III reported that a certain DOLE official has passed away due to COVID-19.

On Sunday (January 10, 2020), the Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre Bello III reported that a labor official died due to the coronavirus disease. The report immediately spread like a wildfire.

The deceased official has been identified as DOLE Underscretary Joji Aragon. The official reportedly contracted the virus after he went on a surgical procedure last month. He is working as undersecretary for wages, productivity, legislative and internal auditing cluster under the agency.

Bello has also expressed his condolences towards Aragon’s family and revealed that the deceased official’s remain would be cremated. Bello also revealed that Aragon died of cardiac arrest secondary to the coronavirus disease.

Overseas Workers Welfare Administration chief Hans Cacdac condoled with the family of Aragon.
