Senator Gatchalian’s Credit Card Used by Unidentified Hacker to Order P1M Worth of Food Via Food Panda

An unidentified hacker used the credit card of Senator Sherwin Gatchalian to buy P1 million worth of food via Food Panda.

On Wednesday (January 6, 2021), Senator Sherwin Gatchalian announced on his Twitter account that someone used his credit card and ordered P1 million worth of food. The orders happened in just less than an hour.

The incident reportedly happened around 4:47 – 5:49 pm on Tuesday afternoon (January 5, 2020). The lawmaker also posted the screenshot of the details of four transactions on his social media account.

The culprit made the order via Food Panda and even wondered how could someone spent P1 million in food alone. The senator thinking that the culprit might order a ‘lauriat’ for the entire village.

“My credit card has just been hacked! May nag order ng P1M worth of food sa Food Panda in less than an hour. Ano yan lauriat para sa buong barangay???” Gatchalian wrote on his post.

The 46-year-old senator concludes that the hacker was able to change his registered phone number and get his One-Time Password, which is sent to the credit card holder. He is currently investigating the fraudulent transactions.

“The hacker managed to change my registered phone number so he got the OTPs,” Gatchalian added.
