Priest Celebrates New Year Under the Bridge Along with Homeless People
A Catholic priest celebrates his New Year eve “medianoche” with the homeless people living under the bridge earned praise online.
People celebrate New Year with their loved ones and family. While others celebrate the last day of the year with their friends outside.
Meanwhile, a Catholic priest chooses to celebrate new year’s eve with less fortunate people living under the bridge. In a Facebook post of Katoto Kay Kristo, Father Danny Pilario went to Congressional Avenue Extension bridge to hold a simple medianoche with strangers.

According to the post, Fr. Pilario reserved the tastiest bread he received as a gift for the people living under the bridge. He also brought a bottle of sparkling wine, which he revealed only contains juice.
He sliced the bread and poured the wine in the cups and distributed it to them. People seem grateful and said “Oy katawan ni Kristo to, salamat po pader!”
“Then and there, I realized what is supposed a Media Noche be like……what’s the best thing to do to welcome a new year,” wrote in the caption.
Meanwhile, the post has gone viral on social media. Fr. Pilario earned praise from the netizens. Netizens also greet him a blessed happy new year.
