OFW Employer Pays P10M Hospital Bill After Being Hospitalized for 4-Months

An employer pays the hospital bill of his Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) employee worth P10 million after being hospitalized for 4-months due to COVID-19.

Being an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) is very difficult especially if their employer does not treat them well. We often hear of OFWs being hurt or abused by their employers, so OFWs are very lucky to have a good employer.

Meanwhile, an OFW from Dubai was hit by coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and been hospitalized for four months. The OFW was identified as Francis Feliciano, 46, an executive of a multinational food company in Dubai.

Francis has been in the company for several years and his track record has been good. So when he tested positive for COVID-19, the company pay all his hospital bills worth P10M.

According to the article of Trendzshares, on April 13, Francis was taken to the ICU of Canadian Specialist Hospital (CHS) in Abu Hail after suffering from a high fever and persistent cough. Francis’ wife Sheila was in Canada then and their son was in the Philippines so no one took care of him but the health workers.

According to Sheila, she worries about her husband every day. She said that every time she calls the doctor, Francis is deeply asleep as he was intubated.

During Francis’ four months in the hospital, he was said to have been intubated for two months due to difficulty breathing. He said that he has also been revived four times so he is very grateful for the help of the nurses and doctors who took care of him.

“I thank God I survived this terrible ordeal and thank the hospital for not giving up on me and taking such good care. I feel better now. I am able to talk with my family on video chat and am hoping to recover completely and look forward to meeting my wife and son soon,” said Francis.
