How Nuezca Was Cleared Of Two Homicide Cases
NUEZCA HOMICIDE CASES CLEARED – Prior to the killing of Sonya and Frank Gregorio, Police Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca had two homicide cases to his name.
Nuezca, the cop who killed two unarmed civilians in broad daylight had allegedly participated in shootouts during buy-bust operations in 2016 and 2018. During these said operations, three drug suspects were slain.
After the shooting, the Philippine National Police from Parañaque City reassigned Nuezca to a squad who kept accounts of officers with pending cases. According to an interview with Inquirer, Inspector General Alfegar Triambulo of the PNP Internal Affairs Service (IAS), the killer cop was merely a member of the police teams involved in the shootings.
As such, his role in the operations that led to the deaths of drug suspects was not clearly defined.
Furthermore, Triambulo also noted records that revealed Nuezca was part of the 10 officer team involved in a buy-bust operation along C-5 Road Extension in Parañaque.
Meanwhile, Triambulo said that the homicide case against Nuezca was dismissed due to him being a “backup” to the main squad. As per the article, Triambulo stated:
The suspect sensed he was dealing with undercover policemen and allegedly engaged the three policemen in a shootout…
The NCRPO-IAS was not able to determine who among the three policemen was responsible for the suspect’s death
Additionally, the administrative case against the killer cop for the two homicides was dropped due to lack of evidence back in May 9, 2019 for the 2016 buy-bust operation. Afterward, his case in 2018 was dismissed on Dec. 29, 2019. Currently, a summary dismissal is being processed against Nuezca for the killing of Sonya and Frank Gregorio.
