Cops want the viral video to be evidence in Tarlac shooting
Authorities aim to use the viral video of Police Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca as evidence in the Tarlac shooting incident but witnesses are hesitant to testify.
The controversial incident that happened in Paniqui, Tarlac shook the online community as the viral video immediately circulated on the internet. This created a loud buzz on social media as netizens and famous people in the Philippines shared their varied opinions regarding what happened.
Philippine National Police chief General Debold Sinas said that cops are planning to submit the original video that showed how Nuezca fired at Sonya and Frank Anthony Gregorio during a heated argument.
However, based on the report from GMA News Online, some of the witnesses are hesitant to testify in court, as well as the person who took the video.
“Kakausapin pa namin ‘yong ibang witness doon sa video kasi ‘yong sa video ay gagawan namin ng paraan na sana i-accept ‘yon as evidence so ‘pag na-accept ‘yon as evidence, malakas talaga ‘yong kaso against kay Nuezca,” Sinas said in an interview.
The PNP Chief added that as of now the said video is not yet submitted as part of the evidence against the killer cop. Nuezca was indicted for two counts of murder after he surrendered.
Reportedly, this is not the first time that the said policeman faced an administrative case. After the Tarlac shooting, reports stating that there were administrative cases filed against him in the past surfaced.
Meanwhile, the daughter of Jonel Nuezca who was with him during the incident will undergo counseling under the supervision of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
In a previous report, PNP said that they are aiming to resolve this case within a month.
