Bogus Online Seller Disappears After Receiving Customer’s Payment

ONLINE SCAM – An online seller suddenly disappeared and went out-of-reach after receiving the payment of its customers.

A disappointed customer identified as “Mika” is looking for a “bed frame” on social media. She saw the post of the online seller on Facebook. Mika immediately contacted the seller for the transactions.

The seller asked Mika to send the full payment first through mobile wallet before delivering the item. Mika was convinced to send the payment first thinking that the seller is legit and would not do something illegal.

Mika is expecting to receive the item last December 1, 2020 but the item did not arrive. She tried to contact the seller but the latter disappeared and gone out-of-reach. The seller also blocked the customer.

“Binlock talaga ako kasi nung una nagri-ring ang number,” Mika said.

The bogus seller reportedly used the screenshot of its conversation with Mika to prove its legitimacy. The disappointed lady discovered the modus from other victims.

The lady victim is worrying about the safety of her family because the seller had her address and contact details.
