Who are prioritized for Covid-19 Vaccine? Here’s the list!
COVID-19 VACCINE – Around 24.6 million Filipinos are on top of the prioritized persons to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
What has created a big fear to a lot of people is the pandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019 which is also known as COVID-19. It has been spread all over the world and much has changed since from social distancing to wearing of masks.
For the whole year of 2020, everyone is advised to stay at the safety inside their homes and practice strict health protocols released by health authorities. And now, after months of waiting for a vaccine to fight this highly contagious disease, it is reported that the cure is almost here. Pfizer and BioNTech were the first two companies that created a vaccine and received a nod.
As per previous article, the vaccine must accordingly be stored at ultra-low temperatures. This is the solution that people have been praying and asking for almost a year now. Government and authorities of each country is now prepping up for distribution.
And as for the Philippines, the Palace already decided as to who will be prioritized to get the vaccine. Metro Manila, Metro Cebu and Davao are “geographical priorities” for the vaccination due to their high and still increasing numbers. The first persons eligible of the vaccine has a total of 24,668,128.
See list below:
- 1,762,994 frontline health workers
- 3,789,874 indigent senior citizensÂ
- 5,678,544 remaining senior citizens
- 12,911,193 remaining indigent populationÂ
- 525,523 uniformed personnelÂ
Following the stated above priorities are below based on list shared by Dr. Aleli Annie Sudiacal of the DOH Bureau of International Health Cooperation to the House Committee on People’s Participation:
- 6th: teachers and school workers in the public and private sectorsÂ
- 7th: all remaining government workers
- 8th: “essential workers” in agriculture, the food industry, transportation and tourism
- 9th: sociodemographic groups in significantly higher risk areas other than the senior citizens and indigent population (persons deprived of liberty, persons with disabilities, and Filipinos living in high-density areas)
- 10th: overseas Filipino workers
- 11th: other remaining workforce
- 12th: students
