Size-75 Boots Designed To Fight Against COVID-19 By Promoting Social Distancing
SIZE-75 BOOTS AGAINST COVID-19 – A Romanian cobbler designed giant boots with the aim of help with the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
Among the biggest concerns amid the pandemic is social distancing. As they say, whether or not you’re infected, it’s a good practice. If you’re not infected, staying away keeps you safe, and if you are, staying away keeps you from spreading the disease.
However, in some areas, even with strict social distancing protocols, people still stick together in close proximity. As such, Grigore Lup designed a European size-75 boots to force others to stand about 2 meters apart.
According to an article from Inquirer, Lup had the idea the moment he noticed to people standing way to close to each other. Knowing that it was a pandemic, Lup thought that he wanted to find a way to promote social distancing the best way he knew how.
I also got a lot of orders from people with large shoe sizes. They figured that if I can make a size 75 I can also make a size 50, Lup said. Currently, each winter shoe pair cost around 150 euros or P8.7K.
As per the article, Lup emphasized that during the early stages of the pandemic, people never really understood the virus. Furthermore, he hopes, much like many, that the vaccine would rid the world of the virus.
