Pinoy Band Aegis Reveals Story Behind ther Hit Song “Christmas Bonus”
The popular rock band Aegis has revealed the story behind the hit song “Christmas Bonus”, which has been released in the year 2000.
The Filipino pop-rock band Aegis is very popular in the Philippines because of their popular hit songs, which captured the hearts of thousands of Filipino people. The band rose to fame during the 90s and early 2000s.
In the year 2000, Aegis released a Christmas album named “Paskung Pasko” including the hit song “Christmas Bonus”, which becomes an instant hit to everyone. The employees who were expecting to receive a Christmas bonus found themselves as characters to the song.
The band did not expect and gets surprised after the carrier single become an instant hit not only in the Philippines but also to every Filipino people in different countries all around the world.
The song also becomes the theme of hard-working employees during the Yuletide season. It also brings back memories to a lot of Filipinos listening to the song.

Eva Vivar and Aegis composer late Celso Abenoja collaborated for the hit song. Vivar wrote the lyrics and Abenoja made the musical arrangement. Alpha Records and AGs Management have decided to make “Christmas Bonus” as the album’s carrier track.
The group also revealed that none of them has ever received a bonus pay although they are performing the song after many decades.
“[Because] Not one of us has worked for a corporate office,” Aegis said.
