Netizens are talking about GMA 7 and reporter Joseph Morong
GMA 7 and Kapuso reporter Joseph Morong, a member of the Malacanang Press Corps, trended on Twitter on Tuesday due to the recent issue between President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Leni Robredo.
For several instances, the name of Morong became a trending topic on the micro-blogging social media platform. He is known for summarizing the lengthy speeches of the Chief Executive so that it will be available to more people.
However, there were also times that his name went controversial because of his post, just like what happened recently. Morong reported the tirade of the President against the Vice President. Duterte accused Robredo of initiating the “Nasaan Ang Pangulo” on Twitter amid the calamity.
Apparently, netizens did not like what Morong did in his report as he just quoted the statement of the President without getting the side of the Vice President. The official Twitter account of the news department of GMA 7 is also retweeting the tweets of the reporter.
Because of this, netizens compared how the Kapuso network and Morong posted their reports on social media to the reports posted by other news entities in the Philippines. On the other hand, there were all those who defended the TV network.
Here are some tweets about the Kapuso network and its reporter.
However, in his two tweets, Morong explained that he asked the staff of the Vice President as soon as the President started his tirade.
“I asked one of her staff if they were watching and asked immediately for reaction precisely because of the accusation of the President that VP was behind “Nasaan Ang Pangulo,” he said. The reporter also pointed out that he retweeted the statement from the staff of Robredo.
