Here’s how much Isko Moreno will give to barangays in Manila with no COVID-19.
ISKO MORENO – Mayor of Manila Isko Moreno reveals how much will be given to barangays with no COVID-19 infection from December 1 to January 31, 2021.
As of latest update from the Department of Health (DOH), the number of cases in the Philippines reached over 410,000 persons who got infected and it still continues to rise. To recall, it was early of this year when the pandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) emerged in the country.
Strict health protocols and quarantine have already been raised but the number of infection in the country steadily increases everyday. And to solve this, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno thought and implemented an effective strategy to decrease infection in his area.
Through Executive Order 45 which the Manila Mayor has already signed, barangays in Manila who will not record a single infection from December 1 to January 31, 2021 will receive a cash incentive amounting to as much as Php 100,000.00 which they found “imperative to motivate barangay officials in the fight” to prevent spread of the deadly disease.
Also, the cash incentive will also serve as assistance for them to maximize their efforts. Those barangays that have zero cases from September 1 to October 31 will again be given this amount if they continue their COVID-19 free status. And at the first round of this program, 73 barangays were able to achieve it and received the incentive.
The first set of barangays who managed to do it was validated by the Manila Health Department (MHD).
Meanwhile, for the recent Typhoon Ulysses that made a landfall in the country causing huge floods, he announced that Manila will be donating Php 2 million worth of cash for the victims in Cagayan.
