DOH Update on COVID-19 Cases in PH Now

DOH – The Department of Health released an update on the COVID-19 cases, deaths, and recoveries in the Philippines today, May 26.

Despite the easing of the quarantine measures, everyone must still not put his guards down against COVID-19. The war against this disease is yet to be over in the Philippines and in many countries.

More than 200 countries and territories across the globe have confirmed cases of COVID-19. This coronavirus was first recorded in China way back December 2019.

In January 2020, several other countries started recording their first cases of coronavirus. Deaths outside China also took place.

DOH COVID Update

In the Philippines, community quarantines are still up now as the fight against COVID-19 is not yet over. Most areas in the country are under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ) as declared by the Palace.

Also, everyone must wear face mask when going outdoors. Social distancing must also be observed to prevent the spread of the infection.

The Department of Health (DOH) is releasing daily updates regarding the new COVID-19 cases, deaths, and recoveries in the Philippines. For today, May 26, the health department said that 350 new coronavirus cases were added to the total bringing it to 14,669 now. Out of the number, 10,371 are active cases.

13 new deaths due to COVID-19 were recorded thus the death toll is at 886 now. On the positive side, the health department reported 89 new recoveries from coronavirus. There is now a total of 3,412 recoveries in the country.
