NORTHERN CONSTELLATIONS – In this topic, we are going to know and identify the constellations in the Northern Hemisphere.

Northern Constellations

As mentioned, they are defined as those in the northern celestial hemisphere which is found north of the celestial equator.

Most of the 36 constellations are based on Greek constellations which were first catalogued by astronomer Ptolemy in the 2nd century. Among them were those associated with Greek myths and legends.

The northern hemisphere is divided into four quadrants: NQ1, NQ2, NQ3, and NQ4.

There are two constellation families that can be found in the said hemisphere, namely: The Ursa Major family and the Perseus Family.
