Rabiya Mateo is set to have her homecoming
Miss Iloilo Rabiya Mateo is set to have her grand homecoming to her home city after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 pageant.
The Ilongga beauty queen has brought not just to her city but the whole province of Iloilo when she was crowned as the representative of the Philippines in the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world.
After the coronation, she already did several media appearances and through these events, the public was able to know her more. Based on the article from Panay News, the newly-crowned beauty queen is set to fly back to Iloilo on November 12.
On the said date, there will be a grand homecoming after her successful national pageant journey. A motorcade around the metropolitan will be held and then, Rabiya Mateo will meet Mayor Jerry Treñas at the Iloilo City Hall for a courtesy call.
The 23-year-old beauty queen will also meet Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. of Iloilo province and Balasan Mayor Manuel Ganzon at the Iloilo provincial capitol.
Also included in the schedule of Rabiya on that day is her private time with her family and friends. She will also have a private lunch with Cong. Julienne “Jam-jam” Baronda.
It was also said in the article that Rabiya will join Mayor Treñas for the ceremonial lighting of the city’s Christmas parol project. She will be staying in her home city until November 14.
Rabiya Mateo is the second Ilongga beauty queen who will represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant. Binibining Pilipinas 1965 Louise Aurelio Vail from Jaro, Iloilo was among the 15 semifinalists in the Miss Universe pageant that year, based on the article.
