Here’s the game plan of Rabiya Mateo for MUP 2020
Ilongga beauty queen Rabiya Mateo revealed her game plan for Miss Universe Philippines 2020.
Rabiya admitted that winning the most prestigious crown in the Philippine pageantry still overwhelms her even days after the coronation night. Although controversy surfaced surrounding her win, the crowned Miss Iloilo did not let that hinder to savor her triumph.
It is known to many pageant fans that even before the coronation night, there are already those who are predicting who will make it to the top. For Rabiya, before the coronation night, her name was just among one of the contestants representing her city or province.
However, she was able to emerge to the top and was hailed as the Miss Universe Philippines in its first-ever solo pageant. Talking to a small crown during a Frontrow event, Rabiya Mateo shared the game plan she did in order to get the crown.
She likened the competition to a David and Goliath fight as many pageant veterans also joined. Rabiya knew that she had to compete with big names and experienced contestants.
However, she said that she did not want to pressure herself because of that. “What I did, I focused on the aspects of competition that were scored. So, it’s like you study but you study the technicalities on how to win,” she revealed.
Rabiya Mateo graduated with flying colors from high school to college, so, she made use of that asset and played the game smartly. “I think you really had to be smart to know what moments you need to peak and I did,” the Ilongga beauty queen said.
