One of the judges of the pageant, Miss Universe 2010 4th runner-up Venus Raj, said and shared that Mateo is actually deserving to have the crown because of her beauty and intellect. She doesn’t know anyone in the pageant and it was only after announcing the winner that she asked about the newly-crowned queen.

It was then she knew that they are both half Indians, from a poor family, left by their fathers at a young age, and from a province. She saw how driven she was and seeing her performance during the pageant, she believed that she deserves the crown and the title.

During her online interview with G3 San Diego, Venus said that a lot from the girls have potential and described them as “amazing, deserving women to be there”. Meanwhile, she find it hard to see chances of Mateo winning the Miss Universe pageant where she will be competing with girls from other countries.

She has not yet seen the other girls but Rabiya has something in her that would be her advantage in the international competition and that is her “very sultry face”. She added, “And when she walks, she’s as if conveying a message without saying words yet. So, I think that’s one of her edge that maybe she can use in the international competition.”
