Angel Locsin Criticizes Antonio Parlade For Warning Liza Soberano Against Supporting Gabriela
ANGEL LOCSIN – Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin criticized Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. for warning Liza Soberano against supporting Gabriela.
Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. issued a statement after Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano participated in an online event hosted by Gabriela Youth. He cleared Liza’s name from any communist influence.
The military official also warned the Fil-Am actress that she may “suffer the same fate” as Josephine Anne Lapira if she won’t end ties with the group. Lapira was a student who was slain during an encounter in Batangas between the authorities and NPA rebels.
Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and actress Angel Locsin were also mentioned in Parlade’s Facebook post on Wednesday. “The choice is yours, Liza. And so with you, Catriona. Don’t follow the path Ka Ella Colmenares took in the underground and NPA Quezon. I am sure Angel Locsin and Neri Comenares will not tell you this,” he said.
Liza Soberano’s legal counsel, Atty. Juanito Lim Jr. said the actress is not afraid of Parlade’s ‘unsolicited advice.’ He said the actress will continue to express her opinion “without fear or restraint from anyone.”
“Liza is not afraid of this statement from Gen. Parlade. Though I must state that we take note of the general’s advice, unsolicited as it may sound,” he said.
Angel Locsin criticized the military general for warning Liza Soberano against supporting Gabriela Youth, saying he reminds her of the 1920s. The prominent actress posted it on her IG Story on Thursday. It came with a caption, “A man calling out a woman on how she should advocate women’s rights. How 1920s.”
In another IG Story, Angel Locsin shared the comment of Sen. Risa Hontiveros on Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr.’s remarks about Liza. The politician said the military general should not use his authority to “threaten” or issue warning against Liza.
