Military Official Warns Liza Soberano On Ties W/ Gabriela Youth
LIZA SOBERANO – NTF-ELCAC exec urged Liza Soberano to disassociate herself with the Gabriela Women’s Party.
Filipina-American actress and endorser Liza Soberano recently appeared on a webinar with the Gabriela Youth. In the online event, they discuss issues young women are facing amid the pandemic.
The Kapamilya star is a guest speaker in “Mga Tinig ni Nene: Reclaiming Our Voice on the International Day of the Girl Child.” A day after she spoke at the webinar, netizens made the hashtag #BoycottLizaSoberano trend.
Youtube vlogger DDS Princess and a netizen named Mark Lopez criticized Liza Soberano for allegedly joining the Gabriela Youth. The youth arm of Gabriela Woman’s Party is allegedly the front of the terrorist group CPP NPA NDF.
The supporters of the actress find Lopez and the vlogger’s statement funny because there is no proof that she joined the terrorist group or that she identifies herself as a communist.
In a statement posted on the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) Facebook Page, Lt. General Antonio Parlade Jr. on Wednesday warned Liza Soberano on her ties with the youth group after she participated in their online event.
Parlade also cleared the name of the prominent actress from any communist influence.
“Let us not red-tag Liza Soberano. It’s not fair to her. She is merely supporting advocacy for women’s rights. She has to be protected in the exercise of her rights. Is she an NPA? No, of course not. Not yet. So let’s help educate her and the other celebrity targets of Malayang Kilusan ng Bagong Kababaihan (MAKIBAKA), the Underground Mass Organization hiding under Gabriela Women’s Party,” he said.
Lt. General Antonio Parlade Jr., likewise issued a similar warning to beauty queen Catriona Gray while red-tagging Angel Locsin’s sister Ella Colmenares. He alleged that Ella is working with the NPA in Quezon.
“Liza Soberano, there’ s still a chance to abdicate that group. If you don’t, you will suffer the same fate as Josephine Anne Lapira @ELLA, former Deputy Secretary General of Gabriela Youth of UP, Manila and defender of women’s rights, even against sexual predators amongst her comrades in the NPA unit she joined which is clearly stated in her handwritten letter addressed to a certain @EMIL,” he claimed.
“The choice is yours Liza. And so with you Catriona. Don’t follow the path Ka Ella Colmenares (Locsin) took in the underground and NPA Quezon. I am sure Angel Locsin and Neri Colmenares will not tell you this,” he alleged
