US Hopeful For COVID-19 Vaccine By End Of November

US Hopeful For COVID-19 Vaccine Production By November’s End

US HOPEFUL FOR COVID-19 VACCINE – As the number of Coronavirus cases rise, scientists are racing to develop a vaccine for the disease.

Currently, there are two US-based companies that remain hopeful that their vaccine candidates would be approved by the end of November. This becomes welcome news as the country recorded 8 million cases of the deadly disease.

Because of the lax restrictions in several states in the US, the number of coronavirus cases continues to grow at an alarming rate. As such, Pfizer said it remains hopeful that it could proceed with its vaccine candidate after safety data could be made available during the third week of November.

Because of this, the US could potentially have two COVID-19 vaccines ready by the end of 2020. Along with Pfizer, Massachusetts biotech firm Moderna also aimed to have their vaccine approved by November 25.

So let me be clear, assuming positive data, Pfizer will apply for Emergency Authorization Use in the US soon after the safety milestone is achieved in the third week of November

However, even with the potential early access to vaccines, experts warned that it may take months before it could become widely available to the public. Furthermore, the vaccines for COVID-19 would likely fall short of being fully effective against the virus.

Additionally, most experts believe that a vaccine won’t be a “magic bullet” that could kill the virus on its tracks.
