Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto Allocated Huge Budget for Education Amid Pandemic
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto has allocated P1.3 billion budget to provide city students and teachers the gadgets need to pursue education amid COVID-19 pandemic.
In a report of Inquirer, Mayor Vico has approved the budget proposed to provide tablets for students and laptops for teachers saying that coronavirus disease (COVID-19) can’t stop Filipinos doing their job specifically in the field of education.
“Hindi tayo dapat tumigil sa trabaho, specifically sa larangan ng edukasyon, dahil sa isang pandemiya,” Mayor Vico Sotto said.

Meanwhile, the Pasig City government has been very hands-on in helping Pasig residents since the COVID-19 has struck the country. In the midst of the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pasig local government have extended their financial help to poor residents.
Mayor Vico Sotto is being admired by many people for his immediate response to the crisis. Even residents from other cities and provinces are admiring his effort to help the people in Pasig City.
Aside from the relief goods and the cash assistance from the social amelioration program of the national government, the administration of the young mayor also provided financial aid from the city’s supplemental SAP.
Aside from that, he is also very concerned about the education of youths and jobs in the field of education. He provided better internet connections at every barangay in the city to help every family that has no internet connection in their house.
