Pasig LGU Plans to Provide Personal Learning Devices to Public Students

The Pasig City local government is eyeing to give personal learning devices to students of public school in this upcoming class opening.

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto said on his Facebook post, they currently looking for funds for the said project. He also said public school students must not be left out in the resumption of class amid COVID-19 pandemic.

“Ano man ang mangyari, hindi natin puwedeng hayaan na mahuli ang mga magaaral natin sa mga pampublikong paaralan…,” he said.

Sotto added they preparing for better internet connections at every barangay. With this, students can download modules in case schools will order virtual classes as part of safety measures against COVID-19 this school year.

“We are already working with the Department of Education for any possibility for our students,” Sotto said. In addition, the city government is also ready to assist DepEd in developing learning modules for students.

Based on the article of GMA News, the Pasig Mayor air this statement after the public address of President Rodrigo Duterte saying classes in the Philippines will resume if the country already has the vaccine for the virus, if none, the classes remained suspended.
