CBCP Confirms Archbishop Oscar Cruz Died in the Hospital Today
ARCHBISHOP OSCAR CRUZ – The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) confirmed that the Archbishop Emeritus died today, August 26.
Several religious people have made names in the Philippines for being vocal about what the Church is standing for. Most of them have headed the religious organizations and groups thus they were content of several reports.

One of the archbishops who is known to the public is Bishop Oscar Cruz who led the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) prior to his retirement in 2009.
Bishop Cruz was appointed as the auxiliary bishop of Manila in 1976. Two years after, he was appointed as the archbishop of San Fernando. He was on the post for 10 years.
In 1991, the bishop was appointed as the archbishop of Lingayen-Dagupan. Recently, a sad update about him crossed the surface.
The CBCP confirmed this morning that Archbishop Emeritus Oscar Cruz died. He passed away at 6:45 in the morning at the Cardinal Santos Hospital.
On its Tweet, the CBCP stated that “lingering illness” is the cause of the death of the Archbishop Emeritus. He’s 85 years old upon his passing.
