Both Mayor And Vice Mayor Of Rizal Town Tests Positive For Coronavirus
RIZAL TOWN MAYOR – Both the Mayor and Vice Mayor of San Mateo, Rizal tested positive for the new coronavirus, COVID-19.
In a Facebook post last week, San Mateo Vice-Mayor Paeng Diaz said both he and his wife, Mayor Tina Diaz contracted the respiratory disease. According to an article from Inquirer, both got tested on August 18 and were found positive for the virus.
However, both emphasized that they were experiencing mild symptoms of the virus. As per the report, Paeng Diaz stated:
Ngayon pong araw na ito natanggap po namin ang resulta na ikinalulungkot po naming ibalita sa inyo na kapwa po kami ni Mayor Tina ay nag positibo para sa Covid 19 virus
Along with this, the Vice Mayor said they possibly caught the virus after their continued talks with medical workers and frontliners. On their Facebook page, the Paeng Diaz also said:
Habang kaya po namin mag patuloy magsilbi sa aming mga tungkulin amin po yuon na gagampanan. Ang aming mensahe sa lahat ng kagawaran ng LGU San Mateo, Ipagpatuloy po ninyo ang laban ng ating bayan.. huwag na huwag pabayaan ang ating mga mamamayan… Maraming salamat po sa inyong pang unawa.. MABUHAY ANG BAYAN NG SAN MATEO!
Currently, the Philippines has reported 173,774 cases of COVID-19. Furthermore, the number of deaths recorded in the country had increased to 2,795. Meanwhile, the number of recoveries once again spiked due to the DOH’s scheduled mass recovery and now totals at 113,481.
