Catriona Gray, Young Focus Needs 1M To Build Computer Centers In Tondo

CATRIONA GRAY – Filipina-Australian beauty queen Catriona Gray is once again workign with Young Focus Philippines for a new project.

The 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has drastically changed the world. The pandemic has made the isolation and physical distancing the “new normal.”

The Philippine government is still eyeing on the reopening of schools. The Department of Education (DepEd) recently decided to move the opening of the school year 2020-2021 to October 5.

The postponement of classes is good to give teachers, parents, students, and schools ample time to prepare. Among the celebrities are helping the poor students adapt to the blended learning amid the pandemic is Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray. Last month, she collaborated with her boyfriend Sam Milby to raise funds for the kids in Tondo, Manila.

The proceeds from the streams and downloads of their song “We’re In This Together” will go to Catriona’s advocacy work, the Young Focus Philippines. She thanked Sam for helping her with her project.

Catriona Gray once again worked with Young Focus for a new project. They aim to build computer centers in Tondo.

The Filipina-Australian beauty queen introduced the organization’s Quality Education for All initiative through a video on her FB page. She called for donations so they can start building the computer centers in one of the impoverished areas in the country. They are targeting to raise 1 million pesos.

Catriona Gray said the computer centers are “equipped with social distance dividers, hand washing stains, sanitation equipment, working computers, and a safe learning environment.”

“For many of our Filipino youth in vulnerable areas, having their own gadgets and access to reliable Internet is just not possible. With this, Young Focus is launching the Quality Education for All initiative with the goal of raising P1 million,” she said.
