Catriona Gray, Sam Milby Aim To Raise P1M To Help Students Cope W/ Online Classes
CATRIONA GRAY – Celebrity couple Catriona Gray and Sam Milby aim to raise 1 million pesos to help students cope with online classes.
The COVID-19 has drastically changed the world as we know it. The health crisis has made physical distancing and isolation the ‘new normal.’
But even with the rise of coronavirus cases in the Philippines, the Department of Education Sec. Leonor Briones is still eyeing on the reopening of schools on August 24. Sadly, some parents were unable to afford gadgets for their kids’ online classes.
The Department of Education announced that face-to-face classes will remain postponed until the COVID-19 vaccine becomes available. In line with this, politicians and celebrities launched initiatives to help kids who do not have access to the internet or computers/tablets.
Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista launched an initiative called “Big Heart PH” to help equip students in their distance learning. VP Leni Robredo on the other hand urged the public to donate their extra gadgets to poor students.
Miss Universe 2015 Catriona Gray collaborated with her boyfriend Sam Milby to raise funds for the students struggling during the coronavirus pandemic. Their first song collab was released on Youtube on Saturday, July 18.
The celebrity couple’s talent management agency, Cornerstone said the proceeds fromt the streams and downloads of “We’re In This Together” will go to the Young Focus PH’s “Quality Education For All” campaign.
In the caption of the video, Catriona Gray thanked Sam Milby for taking part in the project. She wrote, “Special thanks to my love Sam Milby, my Young Focus Philippines family and my Cornerstone Entertainment family.”
