Negros Occidental is one of the provinces with cases of COVID-19. Currently, the 2nd floor of the Provincial Capitol of Negros Occidental is temporarily closed.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, a staff of a board member tested positive for COVID-19 prompting the temporary closure of the offices of the board members and the vice governor.

According to Sangguniang Panlalawigan Secretary Atty. Maki Ascalon, the staff who tested positive for COVID-19 is a 24-year-old female. Based on the report, the patient is from Bacolod City.

Disinfection is currently done in the Provincial Capitol of Negros Occidental’s 2nd floor. The SP Secretary clarified that the last time that the patient reported to work was last June 24.

The 24-year-old woman was not able to report to work since then as their house was placed under a lockdown. It was because of the COVID-19 case in their area.

The board members and the co-staff members of the patient already went through swab testing. The employees are under a home quarantine now until the results of their tests are out.
