Norwegian Cruise Ship Pinoy Crew Infected by COVID-19 Amid Pandemic
PINOY CREW – Four Filipino crew members of a Norwegian cruise ship tested positive for COVID-19 disease.
The COVID-19 is currently the common enemy of over 200 nations and territories across the globe. It brought a lot of changes to several countries that many nations even locked their borders for some time to control its spread.
The Philippines is one of the nations with confirmed cases of COVID-19. This disease was first recorded in China last December 2019 and many other nations confirmed their first cases starting in January 2020.
With regards to the Philippines, there is now a total of 103,185 cases of coronavirus recorded. According to the Department of Health (DOH), there are already 65,557 patients of COVID-19 who have recovered. The death toll is at 2,059 now.

The national government and the concerned government offices also monitoring the plight of the Filipinos abroad. Based on a report on ABS-BN News, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said that there is now some 9,569 Pinoys abroad who contracted coronavirus.
Recently, four (4) Pinoy crew members of a Norwegian cruise ship tested positive for COVID-19. According to the report, the said vessel is currently docked in Tromsoe, Norway.
According to DFA, the said Filipino crew are admitted to a hospital now. The Philippine Embassy assured monitoring and readiness for assistance should it be needed.
Aside from the said Pinoy crew of a Norwegian cruise ship, 123 more Filipino crew members of MS Ronald Amundsen took the COVID-19 test. According to DFA, the pending results are expected to be released this week.
