Mayor Isko Moreno Allows Operation of Tricycles, Pedicab, & e-Trike in Metro Manila Despite MECQ
METRO MANILA – Mayor Isko Moreno announced that he will allow tricycles, pedicab and e-trike to operate in Metro Manila under MECQ.
President Rodrigo Duterte grants the appeal to place the National Capital Region and its nearby provinces under the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine due to the increase cases of COVID-19 patients.
Starting Tuesday (August 4, 2020), Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, and Bulacan were under MECQ until April 18. The measure has been made to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease.
The Department of Transportation also announced that public transportation is not allowed anymore in Metro Manila and other areas, which were under MECQ. Several private vehicles are also allowed.
Recently, the Twitter page “Isko Moreno Domagoso” announced that public vehicles such as tricycles, pedicab, and e-trike are allowed to operate in Metro Manila despite the stricter measure due to MECQ.

Mayor Isko Moreno aims to help the employees and medical frontliners with their transportation. He also wants to protect the economy and the livelihood of the employees.
