2nd Tranche Of Sap Expected To Finish By End Of July

2ND TRANCHE OF SAP – The second wave of cash aid distribution under the social amelioration program (SAP) is expected to finish by the end of July.

As the country continued facing the new coronavirus, COVID-19, beneficiaries under SAP were given cash aid. Now, 5 months into the quarantine, beneficiaries could now receive the 2nd tranche of the distribution.

However, according to an article from Inquirer, Malacañang itself admitted that the distribution for the 2nd tranche was “slow”. As such, the Palace hoped for the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to finish distributions by the end of July.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that the process for distribution remained slow. Meanwhile, Roque also said that DSWD expected the distribution to be completed by the end of July.

Sabi po ng DSWD hanggang katapusan ng Hulyo and the Palace will hold DSWD to that

As per the article, Roque stated that more than 3.3 million beneficiaries of the program have received the second round of aid. This would amount to a whopping P20.1 billion.

But, the same issues from the 1st tranche still persisted in the second. These involve duplication of beneficiaries and the like. However, the DSWD explained that the reason for the slow distribution was to make time for validation of identity.
