Gerard Salonga Posts Strong Remark Vs. Musicians Who Rejoiced Over Denied ABS-CBN Franchise
GERARD SALONGA – The Musical Director took to the social media a warning for the musicians who are happy over the ABS-CBN franchise denial.
Last July 10, the verdict of the House Franchise Committee on the franchise bid of the ABS-CBN network took the social media platforms by storm. With a 70-11 voting result, the network was denied of a fresh 25-year franchise.
It is more than two (2) months now since the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) released a Cease and Desist Order against the network. Immediately upon the release of the order, its broadcasting operation went off-air.

Several hearings attended by the Kapamilya bosses were held prior to the voting of the House Franchise Committee. Issues like the citizenship of ABS-CBN chairman emeritus Gabby Lopez III were tackled.
However, last July 10, many were left heartbroken by the decision of the House Franchise Committee. The ABS-CBN network was denied of a new franchise. On the other side, there are people who felt the other way around.
One of those who revealed his side on some people being happy for the ABS-CBN franchise bid denial is musical director Gerard Salonga. He is the director of the Kapamilya network’s Philharmonic Orchestra.
Based on a report on Pep, Gerard Salonga left a warning to musicians who are happy about the ABS-CBN franchise denial. According to him, he really knows some musicians who celebrated the denied franchise of the Kapamilya network.
To these people, Gerard promised that he will never forget them. He also stated that harboring hatred is bad but he knows how to do it and he even knows how to make it grow and carry it.
Based on the report, Gerard Salonga is fine with having enemies. He warned the musicians who are happy about the ABS-CBN franchise denial that he will turn his back against them when the time comes they’ll be needing his help.
“May mga musiko akong kilala na natutuwa sa nangyari kanina sa ABS. Eto promise ko sa inyo: hindi ko kayo kakalimutan. Masama man ito, marunong akong mag-tanim, magpalago, at mag-bitbit ng galit. Ok lang sa akin ang magkaroon ng kaaway. Kapag dumating ang araw na kailanganin ninyo ako, para sa anumang dahilan, tatalikuran ko kayo.”
