3 Quezon City Councilors Confirmed Positive for COVID-19 Prompting Temporary Closure

QUEZON CITY COUNCILORS – Three (3) councilors of QC tested positive for coronavirus or COVID-19.

The COVID-19 fight in the Philippines is not yet over. Every day, there are still fresh cases aside from the previous cases from the backlogs. The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded a total of 57,545 cases of the disease in the country as of this writing.

Out of the said total cases, the death toll is at 1,603 now while the recoveries has reached 20,459. Currently, the whole nation is still under a community quarantine.

Cebu City which recorded the highest cases is under an Enhanced Community Quarantine. Metro Manila is under a General Community Quarantine while most areas in PH are under a Modified GCQ.

Amid the fight against COVID-19, several heads of their cities and municipalities contracted the disease. One of them is Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.

Recently, an update that three (3) Quezon City councilors also tested positive for COVID-19 crossed the surface. Based on a report of ABS-CBN News, due to it, the Legislative Building of QC will be temporarily closed for containment measures.

Aside from the three (3) Quezon City councilors, there are also office staff who tested positive for COVID-19. According to the report, coronavirus testings are still ongoing.

The Legislative Building of QC will be temporarily closed from July 15 to July 19. The local government said that strict contact tracing and follow-up testing will be conducted.

Also, disinfection and sanitation will be done at the Legislative Building. There are still no updates as to the condition of the councilors and the office staff who are positive for COVID-19.
