DOH To Asymptomatic Patients: Complete 2-Week Quarantine

DOH Reminds Asymptomatic COVID-19 Patients To Complete Quarantine

ASYMPTOMATIC COVID-19 PATIENTS – The Department of Health (DOH) reminded asymptomatic coronavirus patients to complete the 14 day quarantine.

However, the health department may have contradicted themselves with a recent study they flaunted. Recently, the DOH said they would change the way they report recovered patients.

Along with this, they said that coronavirus patients showing no symptoms of the virus for 10 days could no longer be contagious. According to an article from ABS-CBN, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said:

The Health Department cited a new criteria released by the World Health Organization (WHO). The criteria said that patients may be released upon 10 days after they first showed symptoms plus 3 additional days without symptoms.

Meanwhile, the DOH emphasized that the public should continue to observe social distancing protocols when going outside. Additionally, she reminded people that a lowered quarantine status does not mean the virus was gone.

As per the report, Vergeire stated:

Currently, the Philippines has reported over 34,000 cases of COVID-19. Of that number, over 1,000 patients have succumbed to the disease while 9,182 have recovered from it.
