Harry Roque Clarifies Duterte’s Dismantling Oligarchs Statement

This is the clarification of Harry Roque regarding the recent statement of Pres. Duterte

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque clarified the statement of President Rodrigo Duterte about “dismantling the oligarchs”.

In a speech aired on Tuesday, the Chief Executive said that he is happy that he was able to dismantle oligarchy without even declaring Martial Law. It was for the public to assume that it was about the Lopezes who owns the ABS-CBN.

The President has expressed this statement before the soldiers in Sulu less than a week after the House of Representatives gave their verdict against the TV giant.

Many concluded that the administration is behind the decision of 70 congressmen who voted to junk the franchise application of the media company. Kapamilya broadcast journalist Ces Drilon has this conclusion in about the recent statement from the President.

This probably because of the previous statement of Harry Roque that the administration has a neutral stance when it comes to the issue with ABS-CBN.

“Kami dito sa opisina ko, lahat ng sinasabi ni Presidente kina-capture namin at ini-index,” the spokesperson added regarding the dismantling oligarchs.

Meanwhile, Harry Roque also made a comment regarding Dennis Uy, the wealthy businessman from Mindanao.

Uy became a Twitter trend on Tuesday after the statement of the President circulated. “Mayaman na si Dennis Uy dati pa. Siguro mas mayaman na siya ngayon. Mining po sila, hindi na nila kailangan si Presidente para lumaki,” Roque said.

In another report from Inquirer, the Presidential Spokesperson said that President Duterte was referring to Lucio Tan, Manny Pangilinan, and the Ayala clan.
