President Duterte said this to her daughter Inday Sara
On July 13, during a speech in Solo, President Rodrigo Duterte has this statement for her daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte regarding her political career.
The children of the Chief Executive have followed his footsteps in the political arena. Currently, Inday Sara is the mayor of Davao, the position that was occupied by her father for several years. The President’s youngest son Baste holds the position of Vice Mayor while the eldest son Paolo is Davao City’s 1st District Representative.
Talks about the next political move of Inday Sara have been circulating for quite a while now. Supporters of the family apparently, have been anticipating that another Duterte will seek the presidency after PRRD.
In an interview last January, Inday Sara sounded uncertain yet when it comes to running for the presidency in 2022.

“A president’s job is a big obligation and a great responsibility. Unlike that of the mayor which covers only the entire city, a president’s job, though its functions are almost similar, covers the entire country,” she said, based on the article from Inquirer.

Apparently, as early as now, the Chief Executive has already expressed his views regarding the future political move of his daughter. Based on the report from GMA News, PRRD said this to Inday Sara:
“Sabi ko kay Inday, huwag ka mag-presidente. Unless you say something na kaya mo para gawin mo sa bayan. If it’s just a matter of ambition, lay off.”
President Duterte added that the world of politics is very complicated and if one gets easily pissed off loses.
“Wala ka talagang makuha diyan [presidency]. Pagod lang. Punta ka doon sa bukid, kung saan-saan ka na lang. Unless you are driven by patriotism,” he said.
