RR Enriquez Laments Rejection of ABS-CBN Franchise Renewal
RR ENRIQUEZ – Former ‘Wowowee‘ host RR Enriquez lamented the decision of the House panel to stop ABS-CBN’s operation amid COVID-19 pandemic.
Lots of people are hoping that the government will give the Kapamilya network a new franchise. In a previous article, Miss Universe titlist Catriona Gray and Pia Wurtzbach spoke up after the House panel denied the company’s franchise bid.
ABS-CBN stars Liza Soberano, Kim Chiu, Joshua Garcia, Anne Curtis, and many others expressed their dismay on social media. A day after the lawmakers rejected the tv network’s franchise application, RR Enriquez, former “Wowowee” host and actress, penned a lengthy message for the media network that jumpstarted her showbiz career. She said that what happened to the company “is heartbreaking.”
“This is heartbreaking. Ako ay isang produkto ng ABS-CBN. From White Castle to money girl turned host ng Wowowee, Banana Split main cast and Pabida Ka host,” she said.
In her post, RR Enriquez recalled how ABS-CBN made her first trip to the United States possible, saying the media giant gave her nothing but good memories. She said people still recognize her as the girl from Banana Split and Wowowee 13 years later.
The actress-turned-businesswoman shared how the Kapamilya network helped her entrepreneurial endeavors. She also penned a message for her former colleagues.
“Sa mga artistang kaibigan ko na nasa Abs Cbn at sa mga staff ng Abs Cbn na hanggang ngayon kaibigan ko pa din. (at kahit hindi ko kilala) Sa lahat ng mga nawalan ng trabaho dahil sa kasakiman ng ibang tao. Kapit lang po kayo. Pang hawakan nyo po and mga salitang ito!!! Romans 12:19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord. God bless everyone,” she wrote.
