Miss Universe Titlists Pia Wurtzbach, Catriona Gray Speak Up As ABS-CBN Franchise Denied
MISS UNIVERSE QUEENS – Filipino Miss Universe titlists Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray spoke up after ABS-CBN’s franchise bid denied.
However, the company faced a lot of roadblocks, especially under President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s administration. Last December, the Davaoeño politician vowed to block the company’s franchise renewal.
Lots of people are hoping that the government will give the ABS-CBN a new franchise. In a report, GMA-7’s ‘Saksi’ ended its newscast with a different extro. The closing spiel of news anchors Raffy Tima and Pia Arcangel caught the attention of the viewers.
Miss Universe Queens Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray were among the celebrities who spoke up after the House panel denied the Kapamilya network’s franchise bid. Both of them are contract artists of the network.
On Twitter, Miss Universe 2018 said: “For the disheartened. For the hurting. I’m so sorry. For those who delight in the suffering of others, I pray your hardened hearts be softened.”
“We continue on. But we will never forget,” Catriona wrote, with a Philippine flag emoji and hearts emojis in red, green, and blue, symbolizing the ABS-CBN network.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach shared a photo of the Kapamilya network’s headquarters on her Instagram account. It came with a caption, “Home (broken heart emoji) #ForeverKapamilya.”
“And when our children tell our story, they’ll tell the story of tonight,” she wrote.
